Final Year Project
The final year project focuses on the production management for After Rain, We Breathe, a physical theatre production that explores different experiences of pain such as emotional, physical and the unseen pain through movement and humour. The performance looks at scientific ideas on how Pain Science meets Physical Theatre and how rehabilitation works, blending these concepts into an artistic theatre piece.

My Reflection:
Through my involvement in this project and juggling with 3 roles (Assistant Stage Manager, Sound Operator and Marketing Coordinator) I gained valuable professional and personal ingiths that have significantly shaped my view in the way I work in collaborative and high-pressure environments.
- Importance of clear and consistent communication.
- I learned how effective having communication under pressure is when managing heavy workload across multiple roles. By regularly updating my marketing team on the progress of my content making/editing and coordinating with cast and crew during rehearsals and show days, I was able to maintain transparency to prevent miscommunication. Ensuring smooth collaboration throughout the project was one of my high priority during my time in this project.
- Having structured scheduling and planning.
- This project has highlighted the necessity of having a detailed schedule for rehearsals, bump-in week, show days, marketing timelines and overall project milestones to meet. Having clear schedules allow me to stay organised in the roles appointed to me and I was able to contribute to efficient worklfows and the successful execution of the production.
- Building confidence in my ideas and professional abilities.
- I learned to trust my creative and technical skills by contributing ideas, particularly in marketing and pre-production processes, and supporting them with strong execution. I was able to add value to the team and project, demonstrate capability and help exceed the client's expectations.
